Slender, fragrant rice from Dinajpur, prized for polao, payesh and flattened chira.
Kataribhog is an aromatic, long-grained rice variety strongly associated with Dinajpur. Cooked, it is soft and fragrant, making it a favourite for polao, khichuri and festive payesh. Dinajpur's Kataribhog chira (flattened rice) is also widely sought, eaten with doi, gur or bananas. Many visitors take a bag home from the town's rice shops.
