Dinajpur Litchi

For a few weeks each summer, Dinajpur's orchards are heavy with red fruit, and the town fills with traders. The best-known varieties include Bedana, with its tiny seed and abundant flesh, and the large China-3, alongside Bombai and Madrajie. The Masimpur area near town is especially famous for its trees. Eating fresh litchi in Dinajpur during the season is a summer pleasure.

Bedana and China-3 are the premium varieties and ripen later than Madrajie.
