How the guide is made

Every entry is written for this site. Facts are checked against public sources, and readers can suggest places that we check before publishing. The guide currently covers 64 districts and 787 entries. Prices, fees and travel times are estimates; please confirm locally, especially in the hill tracts, on St. Martin's Island and in the Sundarbans, where permits and advisories change.

How the planner works

Road distances between district headquarters come from OpenStreetMap through the OSRM routing engine, calculated once and stored with the site. Within a district we estimate road distance from straight-line distance. Average speeds and costs for motorbike, car and bus are conservative estimates for Bangladeshi roads. Overnight stays such as an island or a houseboat count as full days.
