Ramsagar National Park
রামসাগর জাতীয় উদ্যান
A huge, centuries-old man-made pond surrounded by trees, picnic spots and birdlife.
Ramsagar was dug in the 18th century under Raja Ram Nath and is among the largest man-made ponds in Bangladesh, stretching for about a kilometre. Its banks are planted with trees and paths, and the area is protected as a national park. A small deer enclosure and resting spots make it popular with families. On quiet mornings the water is still and the birds are easy to spot.
How to get there
About 8 km south of Dinajpur town; take an auto-rickshaw or CNG.
Good to know
Weekday mornings are quietest. Do not feed the animals.
