Jamurki Sandesh

Jamurki, a village in Mirzapur upazila on the Dhaka–Tangail highway, is known across the country for its sandesh. The tradition goes back to Madan Mohan Saha in the British period; his son Kalidas Saha made the sandesh famous, and the shop still carries his name. It is made from fresh chhana with sugar or with date-palm gur, and is soft, grainy and fragrant. Jamurki sandesh received Geographical Indication status in 2025.
