Patisar Rabindra Kuthibari
পতিসর রবীন্দ্র কুঠিবাড়ি
Tagore's estate office on the Nagor River, where he ran a farmers' bank and wrote poems.
Patisar was the seat of the Tagore family's Kaligram estate, and Rabindranath stayed here on visits as zamindar. He took a keen interest in rural welfare, setting up a school and an agricultural bank for local farmers. The two-storey kuthibari now displays furniture, photographs and objects linked to his stays. The quiet riverside village still has the rural feel he wrote about.
How to get there
From Atrai in southern Naogaon (reachable by train), take a CNG or auto-rickshaw about 12 km to Patisar.
Good to know
Check opening days locally. The Tagore birthday celebrations in early May are lively.
