Hason Raja (1854–1922), the zamindar-poet whose mystical songs are still sung across Bangladesh, came from the Tegharia area of Sunamganj. The family homestead by the town is now a small museum showing things that belonged to him, such as clothes, a chair and table, a walking stick, a sword, wooden sandals and handwritten songs. The house you see was built by later generations, since his own mud house is long gone. His grave lies close to the homestead.
How to get there
In Sunamganj town; a rickshaw or auto from the town centre takes a few minutes to Tegharia.
Good to know
Opening is irregular, so ask locally or phone ahead. Don't confuse it with the Museum of Rajas' in Sylhet city, which is run by another branch of the family.
