Bhimer Panti is a long block of black stone standing at a tilt in the middle of farmland at Mukundapur–Harogouri in Jahanpur union of Dhamoirhat. It is a protected monument, and local stories link it with Bhima, though no one knows for certain who raised it or when. Old mounds and remains of small temples are scattered around, and a black stone image was found nearby in 1978. Seeing the lonely pillar among the paddy is a strange sight.

How to get there

From Dhamoirhat take an auto-rickshaw about 10 km south-east towards Jahanpur; it is also reachable from Joypurhat side.

Good to know

Walk along the field ridges and don't trample crops. Ask locals for 'Bhimer Panti'.
