Baldha Garden was laid out in Wari by a zamindar of Baldha, Narendra Narayan Roy Chowdhury, and is one of the oldest botanical gardens in the country. Its few acres hold hundreds of plant species, including rare water lilies, orchids, cacti and old trees, many brought from abroad. It is now run as a unit of the National Botanical Garden. Few Dhaka visitors know it is there, which is exactly its charm.
