Lakshmipur Meghna Hilsa

Lakshmipur's western edge is the wide Meghna, and about 30 fish ghats line the river from Raipur down to Char Alexander and Ramgati. In season boats land hilsa all day, and many of the fish sold in Chandpur's markets actually come from these waters. Buying at a ghat like Motirhat or Majuchowdhurir Hat, you can have it fried or cooked in mustard at a nearby hotel.
