The Navaratna, or nine-jewelled, temple is a three-storey brick tower crowned with nine small spires, built in the 18th century. Traces of terracotta work survive on its walls. Most travellers rush past Hatikumrul, one of the country's busiest road junctions, without knowing it is there. It stands among fields and smaller temples, a calm contrast to the highway traffic.
