The Ulchapara Jame Mosque stands in Ulchapara village in Brahmanbaria Sadar. An inscription dates it to 1727–28, and it was founded by a merchant from the west, Shah Muhammad Murad, whose grave lies beside it. The original building had no verandah; later additions have been made, but the old prayer hall still stands. It is a protected archaeological site that few visitors to the town ever see.
How to get there
Rickshaw or auto from Brahmanbaria town to Ulchapara, a short ride.
Good to know
Visit outside prayer times and dress modestly.
