Shah Porir Dwip lies at the far end of Teknaf, where the Naf River meets the Bay of Bengal and Myanmar's hills rise across the water. It was once a separate island and is now joined to the mainland by road. The beach is long and empty, and fishing boats come and go from its ghats. Few tourists go beyond Teknaf, so it feels very remote.

How to get there

From Cox's Bazar go to Teknaf by bus or along the Marine Drive, then take a CNG or easy-bike south to Shah Porir Dwip.

Good to know

This is a border area: carry ID, follow BGB instructions and do not go near the river at night.
