The sprawling, partly ruined palace of the Muktagacha zamindars, with temples and carved stucco.
The Acharya Chowdhury family of Muktagacha were among the most powerful zamindars of Mymensingh. Their palace complex includes residential blocks, temples, a ruined throne room and ornamented gateways, some restored and some crumbling. Walking through the courtyards gives a sense of how big these estates were. After visiting, walk to the monda shop in town.
How to get there
Bus or CNG from Mymensingh town to Muktagacha, about 30–40 minutes.
Good to know
Some parts are unsafe; avoid entering decaying buildings.
