Lauchapra in Bakshiganj upazila sits at the edge of the Garo Hills, where Jamalpur's flat plains meet low, forested ridges. A recreation area has a viewing tower, picnic spots and small lakes, and the view stretches north to the hills in Meghalaya. Garo and other indigenous families live in nearby villages. It is a favourite winter picnic spot, so weekdays are calmer.
How to get there
Bus from Jamalpur town to Bakshiganj, then a CNG to Lauchapra.
