A historic river ghat on the Jamuna in Dewanganj, with huge views over shifting chars.
Bahadurabad Ghat in Dewanganj upazila was for decades an important rail-ferry crossing over the Jamuna. Though its old role has faded, the riverbank remains a dramatic place, with the Jamuna spreading wide and sandy chars appearing and vanishing with the seasons. Country boats carry people and goods out to the char villages. Sunsets over the braided river are memorable.
How to get there
Train or bus from Jamalpur town to Dewanganj, then an auto to Bahadurabad.
Good to know
Only take boats in calm weather and with a local boatman.
