Padma Riverfront

Rajshahi's southern edge runs along a raised embankment above the Padma, and stretches of it have been turned into walkways and small parks. In the evening families and students come to stroll, eat street snacks and watch the sun drop over the river. In the dry season sandbanks appear in the middle of the channel, and boatmen offer short rides out to them. The breeze makes it the best place in the city on a warm afternoon.

How to get there

Take a rickshaw or auto-rickshaw to the T-Badh or Padma Garden areas in the city.

Good to know

Late afternoon is best. Agree on a price before taking a boat and avoid going out when the river is high.
