The Naldanga estate in Sadullapur upazila was founded by Kashinath Lahiri, who rose in the 1770s as an accountant and revenue official at the court of Cooch Behar. Among later members of the family was Tulsi Lahiri. Today little survives: two temples, an old well, a large pond and fragments of the boundary wall. The rest has crumbled through neglect. It suits travellers who like piecing together history from traces in the village landscape.
How to get there
From Gaibandha take a bus or CNG along the Sadullapur–Naldanga road to Naldanga, and ask for the jomidar bari.
Good to know
Go with modest expectations; there is no signage. Respect the temples if worship is going on.
