Kansat Zamindar Bari

The Kansat Zamindar Bari, known locally as the Rajbari, stands in Kansat in Shibganj upazila and is listed by the Department of Archaeology. The family behind it is said to have moved here from Bogura via Muktagachha before setting up their estate; Suryakanta, Shashikanta and Shitangshukanta are named as its founders. Much of the building is now in poor shape. Kansat is also the biggest mango market in the region, so a summer visit lets you see both.

How to get there

Kansat is on the Chapainawabganj–Sona Masjid road; buses and CNGs from the town stop at Kansat bazar.

Good to know

Parts of the building are unsafe, so don't climb on damaged sections. Come in June–July to see the mango market in full swing.
